SUMMERVILLE (AP) — A confidential settlement agreement has been reached in civil lawsuits involving two sexual abuse victims of a former Charleston-area teacher and coach.
The attorney for the two victims of Louis “Skip” ReVille and Pinewood Preparatory School announced the settlement Friday.
As part of the settlement, the school has adopted a new policy that implements and enforces stricter procedures to protect students and make employees and volunteers aware of the threats abuse poses to children.
In April of last year, Solicitor David Pascoe said there was no credible evidence that anyone at Pinewood Prep knew ReVille was abusing children.
ReVille was a teacher and coach at the school at Pinewood Prep. He’s serving a 50-year prison sentence for abuse that involved dozens of boys.
