NEWBERRY, S.C. (AP) — Officials say four teenagers wanted in the killing of one of their fathers in Tennessee have not been seen since about an hour after they ran from police in central South Carolina.
Newberry County Sheriff Lee Foster said in a Thursday afternoon news conference that he thinks the teens are still in the area. But the longer that police dogs and helicopters come up empty, the more his officers wonder where they were able to steal a car or are hiding in a house.
The teens, ages 15 and 16, led police on a chase after their van was spotted at a rest area on Interstate 26. Foster says they ran into the woods after the van crashed.
Investigators don’t have a motive for the killing in Greeneville, Tenn.
