Man gets 23 years in Dorchester shooting death

ST. STEPHEN (AP) — One of six people charged in the 2011 shooting death of a man in Dorchester County has pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and attempted murder.

The Post and Courier of Charleston reported that Sheldon Goodman of Eutawville was sentenced Monday to 23 years in prison.

Goodman was originally charged with murder in the 2011 shooting death of 21-year-old Brittany Aigoro of St. Stephen.

Investigators said Aigoro was shot during what authorities said at the time was a robbery attempt. A man in the house was wounded.

Charges are pending for the other five co-defendants.
