Greenville woman gets home detention in crash

SPARTANBURG (AP) — A Greenville woman has been sentenced to home detention and probation for a 2012 crash that killed a man.

The Herald-Journal of Spartanburg reported that 55-year-old Patricia Wood Norton pleaded guilty Monday to felony driving under the influence resulting in death.

Norton was sentenced to one year of home detention, five years of probation and suspension of her license during probation. She also must pay a $10,000 fine.

Authorities said Norton was driving an SUV that ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree. Her passenger, 59-year-old Dave Blaine Sanders, died from his injuries.
