NORTH MYRTLE BEACH (AP) — Authorities in North Myrtle Beach are still looking for a missing North Carolina woman who was scheduled to be in court earlier this week.
The husband of 42-year-old Amy Arrington of Lowell, North Carolina, reported her missing Saturday afternoon, telling a lifeguard she had said she was going in the water as the couple was on the beach.
Amy Arrington was supposed to be in court in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Monday to face charges of identity theft and forgery. A judge has issued a warrant for her arrest.
Lifeguards searched the water until about 10 p.m. Saturday, assisted by local and state officials and the Coast Guard.
North Myrtle Beach spokesman Pat Dowling says the case is being investigated both as a missing person’s case and a possible drowning.
