FORT MILL (AP) – The magistrate’s office in Fort Mill has been closed by mold.
The Herald of Rock Hill reported that York County public works director David Harmon says an environmental company is taking samples in the building. Harmon says officials found mold in the ceiling in the foyer outside the courtroom.
Harmon says workers are checking two other areas, including the office used by clerks, the office manager and the magistrate.
He says the county has spent more than $4,000 on the testing and will spend more on the cleanup.
The employees are working in a Rock Hill magistrate’s office now. The court session is being held in the town of Fort Mill’s courtroom.
Judge David S. Wood says workers became ill last month and problems returned earlier this month.
