FLORENCE (AP) — The South Carolina Supreme Court has suspended Florence lawyer William J. Rivers III from practicing law while state court officials investigate money missing from a client account.
The court has named Florence attorney Nicholas Lewis to protect the client’s interest.
The court said Lewis’ duties included distributing case files to clients, collecting mail and managing the firm’s bank accounts.
The Morning News of Florence reported that one client said he was owed more than $76,000 from an auto accident settlement.
