COLUMBIA (AP) — Camden attorney and state Sen. Vincent Sheheen is touring the state to promote his book that lays out his ideas for improving South Carolina.
Sheheen’s three-week tour launches Monday with a stop in the Indian Land area of Lancaster County. Sheheen spokesman Phil Bailey says the tour is only to promote policy ideas in the book, titled “The Right Way: Getting the Palmetto State Back on Track.”
But it’s viewed as a precursor to Sheheen’s second gubernatorial campaign. A rematch between Sheheen and Gov. Nikki Haley is widely expected in 2014, though neither has officially announced.
Sheheen’s self-published book is available free on his Web site or at his tour stops.
The Democrat served nearly two terms in the House before being elected to the Senate in 2004.
