Ex-Easley investment manager sentenced to 10 years

ANDERSON (AP) — The former manager of an Easley investment firm has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

The Greenville News reported (http://grnol.co/1fijXet ) that 60-year-old Arthur Field was sentenced Tuesday. But a judge also said the rest of the sentence would be suspended after Field serves 26 months.

Field must also pay $2.8 million in restitution. He pleaded guilty in May to 11 counts of securities fraud, two counts of conspiracy and one count of forgery.

The manager of Capital Investment Funding was indicted by a state grand jury last year on charges related to the business which sold promissory notes to investors.

Field offered no explanation of what happened to the millions of dollars that investors are owed.
