Brittany McIntosh, David Dill and Lee Kiser have joined the Greenville office of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough as associates. McIntosh focuses on corporate law, securities, and mergers and acquisitions. Dill focuses on business litigation, employment law, and general litigation. Kiser focuses his practices on corporate securities, bank regulatory, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance matters.

 

Motley Rice said Sara Couch Bryant and Temitope “Tope” Leyimu have joined its Mount Pleasant office. Bryant, a 2013 graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Law, joins the securities and consumer fraud practice group. Leyimu, a 2013 graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, will focus her practice on people and families whose lives have been affected by catastrophic injuries or death as a result of corporate wrongdoing.

 

Moore & Van Allen said Lesley A. Firestone has joined the firm’s Charleston office, where she will be an associate on the litigation team. Before joining the firm, Firestone worked as a staff attorney for the South Carolina Court of Appeals.

 

Richardson Plowden & Robinson said Bruce Hendricks “Brucie” Smith has joined the firm as an associate attorney in the Myrtle Beach office, where she is a member of the medical malpractice group. Smith is a 2012 graduate of the Charleston School of Law.

 

Outside the Law

The University of the South said G. Mark Phillips, a partner in Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough’s Charleston office, has been elected to its board of trustees. Phillips is a 1983 graduate of the school.

The Central Carolina Community Foundation has recognized J. Hagood Tighe, a partner at Fisher & Phillips in Columbia, with its Carolyn Holderman Vision Award.

 

Michelle Parsons Kelley, an attorney in the Columbia office of Richardson Plowden & Robinson, was recently appointed by Gov. Nikki Haley to serve on the State Workforce Investment Board.
