Former director of buses in Myrtle Beach area sues

CONWAY (AP) — The man fired as head of the bus system in the Myrtle Beach area has sued, claiming he was wrongfully terminated.

Myers Rollins has sued the Waccamaw Regional Transit Authority, which operates as the Coast Regional Transportation Authority, as well as the state transportation department and some local and state officials.

Rollins is seeking $5 million, saying he was abused and humiliated before he was wrongfully fired in April. He wants his job back, with back pay and benefits.

The lawsuit says Rollins had nine years with the agency getting excellent job reviews before he was fired.

Coast RTA issued a statement saying it has not had time to review the lawsuit.

Rollins’ attorney, J. Lewis Cromer, said his client thinks he was treated badly.
