AIKEN (AP) — A 26-year-old man has pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and attempted murder in the 2012 shooting death of an Aiken man.
The Aiken Standard reported Wednesday that Circuit Judge Garrison Hill sentenced Morris Dorch to 15 years in prison.
Dorch had been charged with murder in the death of 21-year-old Delance Terez Walton.
Prosecutor Beth Ann Young said deputies found Walton in the front seat of a vehicle riddled with bullet holes at a store Dec. 15. Walton was pronounced dead at the scene.
Young said a man who had been in the vehicle with Walton came forward and told them Dorch had pulled a gun and opened fire after talking with Walton.
