COLUMBIA (AP) — South Carolina officials have charged a 30-year-old Columbia man with 29 counts of perjury for selling concealed weapons permits without giving people the required training.

The State Law Enforcement Division says the charges against Andrew Gahadhar are misdemeanors. Each count carries penalties of a fine not less than $100, six months in jail, or both.

SLED says it had certified Gajadhar as a concealed weapons permit instructor. Officials say 350 individuals in 27 counties who got a permit from Gahadhar are being contacted by mail and told their permits are revoked. They must surrender them to SLED within 15 days or face charges.

SLED says the individuals will be allowed to reinstate their permits once they produce documents that they have received the proper training.
