Spartanburg officials: 3 people charged in Chesnee shooting

SPARTANBURG (AP) — Three people have been arrested in the shooting death of a 33-year-old man in Spartanburg County.

Multiple media outlets reported Wednesday that Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger told them Eddie Richards was found dead at his home in Chesnee on Monday.

Sheriff deputies said 18-year-old David Ronald Boggs has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Boggs was denied bond during a hearing Tuesday at the Spartanburg County jail.

The deputies said 18-year-old Doris Marie Angus and 32-year-old Emmanuel Roy Griffin are charged with accessory after the fact.

Authorities say Griffin is Boggs’ stepfather and Richards’ cousin.

Griffin and Angus are being held at the Spartanburg County jail. It wasn’t immediately clear if any of the three have attorneys.
