YORK, S.C. (AP) — Police say a South Carolina woman’s wheelchair went missing for 12 hours when it was taken for an apparent joyride.
The Herald in Rock Hill reports that a police report said the 49-year-old woman said her Hoveround wheelchair was taken while it was charging on Nov. 14.
The woman told police she left her house around 4 p.m., and the wheelchair was gone when she returned four hours later.
The next morning, an officer in a patrol car noticed the $1,000 wheelchair was back in the shed around 5:30 a.m. after whoever took it apparently returned it.
