Legal expert speaks at SC event on cybersecurity, liability

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A University of California legal expert is speaking at a South Carolina Law Review symposium on issues involving cybersecurity and the law.

Jill Bronfman of the Hastings College of Law is delivering an address Friday at the University of South Carolina Alumni Center. It is free and open to the public.

The symposium includes discussions of the science behind cyber-attacks. It also deals with civil liability and redress for injuries caused by cyber-attacks. There will also be a discussion of specific concerns lawyers may face in dealing with cyber-attack issues.
