CONWAY, S.C. (AP) — A jury pool of 800 people will be called in the case of a man charged with kidnapping and obstruction of justice in the disappearance of an Horry County woman missing for more than two years.
Local media outlets report that a court scheduling order issued this week sets the trial of 39-year-old Sidney Moorer for June 20.
Murder charges against Moorer and his wife Tammy in the disappearance of 20-year-old Heather Elvis were dismissed earlier this month. Elvis was last seen in 2013.
Tammy Moorer still faces a kidnapping charge but no trial date has been set.
Authorities had said earlier they thought that Elvis was killed after Sidney Moorer had an affair with her.
