Warrants: Deputy exchanged sex for leniency in criminal case

Authorities say a deputy in South Carolina has been arrested after he promised to go easy on a woman’s criminal charges if she gave him nude photos and performed sex acts on him.
The State Law Enforcement Division charged 31-year-old Chester County deputy Bryant Joseph Thorpe Jr. with misconduct in office and taking bribes.
Arrest warrants obtained by The Herald of Rock Hill say Thorpe arrested the woman in September for harassment and filing a false police report.
The warrants say for the next three months, Thorpe “had her perform sexual acts on him” and asked her for nude photos, implying he would be lenient in her criminal case.
The Chester County Sheriff’s Office fired Thorpe on Thursday.
It wasn’t known if he had a lawyer.
