The plaintiff was pumping gas at a convenience store in Georgetown. As a log truck passed the store, the lug nuts holding one wheel on its trailer sheared off. The loose wheel and tire assembly rolled through the pump area, striking the plaintiff, his vehicle and the canopy of the station. Security cameras captured a portion of the impact. The lawsuit alleged improper maintenance and pre-trip inspection.

Special damages included $101,000 in past medical expenses and $246,029 in economic loss.
