Walmart pays after man goes to jail (access required)

A 72-year-old man who spent six days in a Stone Mountain, Ga., jail on an erroneous charge brought by a Walmart store won a $275,000 damage award last month from a Spartanburg County jury. The jury ruled that a Walmart Supercenter store in Spartanburg was liable for the false imprisonment of Prakash Solanki, and for the mental anguish and pain that he suffered because of the event.
