Ashley White Creech intended to parlay her love of history into a career in higher education, but during a graduate program she shifted to law school and loved its focus on critical thinking.

“I love the truth-seeking aspect of the law and have found that can bring my clients a lot of peace, despite some of the tragic circumstances they often face,” she says. “I also enjoy working with clients, co-counsel, and defense counsel to try to understand how different perspectives inform a case.”

Creech is a plaintiffs’ lawyer at McGowan Hood Felder & Phelps. She is president-elect of the South Carolina Association for Justice and is active in the American Association for Justice and the York County Bar Association.

“Access to our judicial system is so important, and serving in SCAJ provides the opportunity to promote causes I care about with attorneys throughout South Carolina,” she says. “I also enjoy supporting local nonprofits that make arts more accessible to all.”
