By: S.C. Lawyers Weekly staff//March 4, 2019

Attorney: Christi Anne Misocky

Location: Monroe, North Carolina (formerly of Fort Mill)

Bar membership: Member since 2009

Disciplinary action: Suspended from the practice of law until further notice on March 1.

Background: On Feb. 15 Misocky was arrested and charged with two counts of forgery of a value of $10,000 or more. The Office of Disciplinary Counsel asked the court to place Misocky on interim suspension, noting her failure to cooperate with its investigation. Misocky is also licensed to practice law in North Carolina; in October 2017 the North Carolina State Bar’s Office of Counsel obtained a preliminary injunction in Wake County (North Carolina) Superior Court prohibiting her from handling entrusted funds.

Previous discipline: Misocky was administratively suspended for failing to pay her license fees and failing to comply with her CLE requirements in February 2018 and April 2018, respectively.
