Michael Burchstead has joined Burr & Forman as part of the firm’s commercial litigation practice group in its Columbia office. Burchstead is an experienced litigator who was formerly general counsel for the South Carolina State Ethics Commission.
Richard “Dick” Willis has joined Williams Mullen as a partner in the firm’s Columbia office, where his practice will focus on product liability litigation. Willis represents product manufacturers and business clients in product liability litigation, mass torts, environmental litigation, and commercial litigation.
Derek Tarver has also joined Williams Mullen, in the firm’s Columbia office. Tarver focuses his practice on product liability litigation, particularly among clients in the automotive and consumer product industries.
Jason P. Walton and C. Cartwright “Carty” Bibee have joined Husch Blackwell as partners in the firm’s financial services and capital markets group. Walton and Bibee reside in Charleston and will be based in The Link, Husch Blackwell’s virtual office. They were both formerly partners in the Charleston office of K&L Gates.
Alexis Riordan has joined K&L Gates in the firm’s Charleston office as a counsel in its real estate practice group. Riordan was previously an associate at a New York City-based law firm.
Ryan D. Martin has joined Turner Padget as an associate in the firm’s litigation practice group in its Myrtle Beach office. Martin focuses his practice on construction, insurance, personal injury, and premises and product liability claims.
Mike Burrell has joined Holliday Ingram, a real estate law firm headquartered in Greenville. Burrell will serve as managing attorney for the firm’s newly opened Anderson office. He was previously a solo practitioner.
Lewis Babcock in Columbia announced that David Paavola has been promoted to partner. His practice focuses on eminent domain and condemnation, complex business disputes, and legal malpractice.
The Moore Taylor Law Firm in West Columbia announced that it has changed its name to Moore Bradley Myers.
