CHARLESTON — A decision has been made on how ‘s remaining money will be divided.

Special referee Walter Tollison filed an order Monday with how ‘s remaining assets, $1.76 million as of October 2023, would be split, WCSC-TV, of Charleston, reported.

The decisions in the order were made after “unsuccessful mediation,” Tollison said.

The division of the money includes:

  • Victims of the 2019 boat crash that killed Mallory Beach: 45%.
  • Arthur Badger and his wife’s estate, after more than $1 million was transferred out of Badger’s settlement into Murdaugh’s and others’ accounts: 24%.
  • John Parker, Murdaugh’s former law partner, to whom Murdaugh owed $477,000: 15%.

The payouts come after outstanding legal fees, costs and expenses are paid, WCSC reported.

Murdaugh is serving two life sentences after he was convicted in the 2021 murders of his wife, Maggie, and their younger son, Paul. He also pleaded guilty to multiple federal and state charges that he stole millions of dollars from clients.
