Richland County’s Master-in-Equity Court will open its relocated office next week in the county’s Central Court facility just north of Columbia.
The court has been based in the downtown Judicial Center, a county news release says. But beginning Monday, its new location will be Courtroom 1 at 2500 Decker Blvd.
Office hours will remain the same, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Staff members will continue working during the relocation, Sebrina Sheffield, master-in-equity manager for the county, said in the release, and no delays for the public are expected.
As a division of Circuit Court, the Master-in-Equity Court handles nonjury cases worth more than $7,500, providing a relatively quick and inexpensive means of litigation resolution for civil matters. Judge Joseph M. Strickland serves as the county’s master-in-equity.
The court also holds a monthly property foreclosure sale, the release says. The first such sale at the new location will be at noon Oct. 7.
