Emily Gifford Lucey is known as a zealous advocate for her clients, with a little spice on the side.

“I will speak my mind, but I try to do it kindly,” she says. “And I always strive to have the coolest shoes in the room.”

Lucey says luck played a role in advancing her career as a construction litigation lawyer.

“My first law firm needed a construction law associate, and I volunteered to help,” she says. “The practice area has been good to me, and I have met so many great people and friends, including my husband.”

Lucey hopes the future will mean a return to more in-person procedures.

“Virtual proceedings are decidedly more convenient and economical, but I miss the personal connections we made before virtual proceedings became the norm,” she says.
